The spyglass has a relatively high magnification, so it works best when viewing objects at a distance. For the clearest results, we recommend using it outdoors—like a real spy! Close objects may appear blurry or even completely white.
Here’s how to use it properly:
- Fully extend the spyglass to its maximum length
- Point it toward a distant object (ideally outdoors)
- Slowly retract (shorten) the tube section by section until the image becomes clear and in focus
Please note: focus is adjusted by changing the length of the spyglass, not by rotating any part of it (unlike storybook torches).
